Friday April 7, 2023, as part of their preparation course for the FIFA Women's World Cup, Australia and New Zealand 2023, our Grenadières (56th in the world) faced in a friendly match, on the lawn of the "Emirhan Sport Center" of Antalya in Turkey, the team of the "Super falcons" of Nigeria also qualified for the World Cup (42nd in the world, number 1 of the women's teams in Africa, which won 11 of the 14 African Cups Nations since 1991).

A difficult match for our Grenadières. In the first period, despite their efforts, our girls did not manage to prevent the domination of the "Super Falcons" but were able to resist by creating great chances which unfortunately were not concluded : Nérilia Mondésir (28') Melchie Dumornay (33'). At 45'+1 on a free kick, Esther Okoronkwo opened the scoring for Nigeria [1-0] on poor ball management by Theus Kerly...

In the second period the team of "Super Falcons" came up against a solid Haitian defense and a strong fighting spirit of the Grenadières. Batcheba Louis at 50' misses legalization and hits the post at 88'.

At 58' Asisat Oshoala (FC Barcelona), 5 times best African player of the year, scored a second goal for her team [2-0]

It was not until 77' that Melchie Dumornay alias "Corventina" reduced the score [1-2] after a long run... (after a missed shot above the crossbar of Nigeria's goals at 55')
